How can you hire a gardener in Sims 3?

In sims 1 and Sims 2, you could hire a gardener. In sims 3 the gardens are more detailed and decorated. Therefore harder to look after. I need to hire a gardener. How can I do this? please help.

Unfortunately you cannot.
I found this very frustrating as I made a garden – using the biggest amount of land you can buy and I filled it with apple trees and fruit trees. It was hard to keep healthy which is why the best way to garden, I think, is to get 8 sims in a family and make them all love gardening so they will go out on their own and water the plants.

Nopes there is no option to hire a gardener.

I got round it by getting a new housemate, whose duties are to garden / cook / take of the kids in the house / fish ..

There is no gardener. The regular plants in build mode do not need to be maintained, and any seeds you plant have to be taken care of by yourself.
