The footpaths are now concrete and gravel. You would be wise to wear flats as there is a lot of walking around. In the flower tent (last time I went) it was a grass floor.

Has anyone ever been to the Chelsea Flower show and find it is a big event that only an all day ticket will be worth the while or will a half day ticket be enough to see everything? I have never been to the show so please advise me.

To do it justice, I would opt for the full day, especially by the time you’ve taken a coffee break, lunch break and afternoon tea break! You may need those to rest your feet and aching arms from all the purchases weighing you down!
Having said that, I’m someone who can spend a whole day wandering around almost any Show, then back-tracking to take photographs and getting into discussions with exhibitors and other punters.
If the weather is good, it’s a great Show – have a lovely time.

I’m not sure whether photography is permitted at Chelsea flower show, or if it is, do you have to buy a photography pass?

When photos of flowers sent in by viewers were being shown on the Chelsea Flower Show on BBC1 tonight (22nd may @ about 7:45), there was a nice, simple piano song playing. I recognise it as a movie theme, but cannot figure out which one…
